GENERAL INFORMATION

What are we?
Table Tennis Club “Amstelveen” was established almost 60 years ago as a member of the Dutch Table Tennis Association (NTTB).

We are fielding over 10teams (3-4 players each) in the national, district and junior leagues, which makes us a large club in the Amsterdam area. Youth development, encouraging and coaching junior players is one of our major activities.

Who can join us?
Everybody can become a member of our club. We provide facilities for playing table tennis both as a recreational pastime and an athletic sport. Independent of age, level and ambition, everybody is welcome.
Junior players, however, are expected to attend the coaching sessions led by one of our coaches. By learning the basic skills, they will rapidly improve their standard of play. So they will enjoy better table tennis and enjoy table tennis better.
Adult members have a choice whether they want to play at a recreational level or in the league, and whether they want to attend coaching sessions or not.

What makes us unique?
The club has a wonderful accommodation with a cosy adjacent bar. The matches can be watched from the bar. On top of regular practice, coaching and matches, internal tournaments are organised, where having fun is supposed to be more important than winning.
In addition to table tennis, social activities are organised. There is plenty of opportunity to play darts or pool or do some chatting in the bar. We inform our members of the activities by means of email and/or website.

A high discount of € 30,00 on the membership fee applies for early payment.
1. Regual annual fee (whole season) Senior € xxxx, Junior € xxxx
2. NTTB-League contribution (only when you are playing there) Senior € 35,00, Junior € 25,00
3. Coaching sessions, whole season and free of choise for Senior € 40,00, Junior inclusive
4. The season runs from September through August.
5. In summertime (July and August) there are no playing activities
6. If joined later than September you will be charged proportionately
7. A discount of € 7,00 applies for the second and subsequent members of the same household
8. The discount of € 30,00 counts only for early payment.
9. You can have some free try outs, before you have do decide. So you don’t have to join us immediately for a whole year contribution.

Sponsors
Table tennis is not a big sport and acquiring sponsors is difficult. Membership fees and proceeds from the bar are crucial in order to stay alive as a club. Suggestions for potential sponsors are welcome, therefore. The matter of sponsoring is particularly important to give us the financial freedom required to provide our junior players with flourishing facilities.

Location
The address of the gym is: Landtong 14. It is the hindmost of two sports halls and it is available for coaching, practice or matches almost every night. We own 8 tables. Indoor shoes are required for play.

Bar
The bar is open most nights after 8.30 p.m. during matches and regular practice. In addition, the bar is used for social activities. All adult members are expected to staff the bar about 4 times a year in pairs, together with another member, or alone (when experienced) in some cases. This is the only way to keep membership fees at a low, acceptable level and it provides an excellent opportunity to get acquainted with fellow members.
New members will receive plenty of instructions and are exempted from bar duty during the first 6 months of their membership. Individual preferences for a particular partner or evening will be taken into account. Substitution by a club volunteer is allowed (€25,00 on average).
